Welcome to Year 2A!
We have had a great start to the academic year and children are enjoying their learning.
PE days will be Friday aftenoons.
Children are expected to read at home as often as possible, we ask for 3 times a week at least. This will really support your child's progress in reading. Children should bring their reading books into school every day.
Take a look at our page to see our current class reads, our learning in action, excellent pieces of work and games that will support our learning.
Look at our learning!
Our visit from the bug man!
We had a visit from the bug man. He brought lots of different animals and insects for us to look at and learn about. We were very brave and held lots of animals.
Look at our Bug Hotels!
We have been learning about habitats, microhabitats and how minibeasts help our gardens. We went on a minibeast hunt and identified different microhabitats in the school garden. Some of our children have made their own bug hotels at home and placed them in the school garden!
If you would like to have a go at making your own bug hotel, follow the link below!
Making a Bug Hotel
Join Katie from the City of London Learning Team, to learn how to make a bug hotel out of cardboard, string and natural objects. Check up on it each week to see what bugs move in and try not to disturb them in their new home!

Castles and Monarchs
We have begun our learning about Medieval Castles by studying Motte and Bailey castles. We have learnt about the parts of a castle and made our own representations. We labelled the motte, bailey, keep, fence and moat.

Animal Habitats | KS1 Science | STEM and Beyond
Do you like learning about different animals? Let's look at where animals live. Animals live in different places all around the world and where they live is called a habitat. In a habitat, animals can find what they need to survive. There are many different habitats and animals have special adaptations which help them to live in their habitats.
